Girls Just Wanna Go Boating!

Emily and Sophie were very upset they didn't get to go boating with us yesterday, and since it is too wet to do any planting, we took the boat out again tonight. Alex thought he would use the canoe, and after awhile Emily wanted to canoe with Alex. Mom even joined the fun, but she didn't really want to row. Oh well, I guess it is good exercise for me. I definitely like going downstream better than upstream though. Emily and Alex wanted to go all the way to Campbell, and Karen thought that was a good idea as long as she could just ride along. My old muscles decided that the prudent thing to do was turn around and go home. It was a beautiful night with no bugs!

Boys Will Be Boys

Alex and I thought maybe we should try to lower the water level in some of the puddles/ponds in our yard. We received over 3 inches of rain the last two days. I don't know how much we lowered the water level, but it was fun!

Boating the Rabbit

I just bought a jon boat for my high water trips across the river so the boys wanted to try it out today.

Cleaning the drill.

Alex, Emily and Sam helped me plant a wheat variety screen. They would help me vacuum out the drill between varieties.

DU Greenwing Day

We took the kids to the Ducks Unlimited Greenwing Day at the Fergus Falls fairgrounds on April 28. They built wood duck houses, bluebird houses and mallard nests. They really enjoyed the rock wall that the boy scouts had there. At the end of the day, Alex was lucky enough to win a bike. It was a girls bike from KMart and they let him exchange it for a boys bike.

Gophers Beware

Alex caught his first pocket gopher on April 26.
